Leg Progresssss

holy crap- this is taking forever to finish... Another 5 hours and this is all I have to show for it. I must have a huge thigh for this to be taking so long.. I had to stop because my body putzes out after that much time!

I really enjoy doing the roses and I wish I had been tough enough to stick thru more color because the red was just the start and makes for a pretty boring piece..

Progress Update

Just an update on the tattoo I've been doing on my leg. I anticipate two or three more sessions since I never get to work quite as long as I want before I get kicked out of the stations I borrow and also because it's a massive project.

She's about half shaded and looking dull with no color. To be remedied. This reflects another 3 hours of work.

Useless Post Full of Uselessness

A pointless post updating the world on my chest piece. Obviously, I'm not tattooing my own chest so it really doesn't belong here and in order to not look like a joke compared to an artist who has been tattooing for much longer than I have I will upload this artistic blurry picture I took while I was getting worked on.

Shiva

Observe! More coloring practice done. Lines were found on deviantart.com and coloring is following character design of Shiva from Final Fantasy X. 

Image 1) Done with .02 micron pen on tracing paper, reference used, intended for clean line and coloring practice. outline took about 30 minutes and this image was cleaned up in photoshop.

Image 2) Done with .02 micron pen and prismacolor pencils on tracing paper at a tattoo convention in Chicago. Took about 5 hours to complete and stands about 4"x9". 

This was intended to practice coloring and was finished during a tattoo convention that I attended with my shop. I felt so appreciated there and got tons of compliments on my work. Now I know that drawing at your booth gets you a lot of attention!

Self Mutilation

I wanted to try tattooing myself.  Here I have the before and after images of how that went.  should have taken the picture before putting AnD ointment on because it made it all shiney and seems like her lips are crooked, which they aren't really. The before image if of how she looked from my first attempt tattooing my own leg. Obviously spotty, really terrible line quality, and as indicated by the stencil, I didn't even bother to fully finish it.Over all pretty terrible tattoo. So I went back and fixed it up a little. I'm so much happier with it now! I think the difference is huge. All done with a 7 round liner. The initial drawing/stenciling took about 4 hours (it's pretty damn big) and then the first tattoo session was about 2.5 hours and my second session where I cleaned up those nasty lines took place about 3 months later and took about 4 hours. More content, more patience, more attention to the details, all contribute to why it took so much longer. I'm certain when I sit down to color it it will take even longer. This project has been quite a time investment!
